Over the last years , the demand for osteospermum has increase in Europe , and this is particularly due to the increased range of colour and eccentric of culture this plant life command , explicate Andrea Lazzeri , global product manager of Italian rearing and young plant life company Lazzeri . LeonardoThe Leonardo series was introduced after five years of research back in 2013 , after introducing several bedding plants such as Pelargonium , Petunia , Calibrachoa , Verbena , etc . , explains Lazzeri . They start with 9 varieties and introduced 5 salmagundi in 2021 and another 5 in 2023 . presently , they have 19 sort . “ The serial is now get over a wide chain of colour , which are innovative and trendy . Two of the varieties even have a special effect as the works blooms bloom with different shades of colors . ” But there is more that makes this series exceptional , Lazzeri continues . “ There are several characteristics that make this serial so special , which are regularity , homogeneity , and excellent forking of individual varieties that result in significant plant growth and intensity . Another characteristic is that they flower simultaneously ( a windowpane of ca . ten days ) , which is very crucial in packing / transportation . And last but not least , the grower can combine different colors in one container . Currently , we have two jazz band , but we are working for more in the future . ”
DemandThe Osteospermum increase in popularity among grower over the last years . “ This is because of the large reach of colour on the securities industry but also because of the type of civilization this plant requires ; a cold culture , so less need for heating plant . ” Lazzeri add root ( RC ) and unrooted ( URC ) cuttings all over Europe , and also they have realize the demand increase and peculiarly in the last few years . “ This is because of our quality and that we expanded our colour ambit . ”
farseeing production and supplyAnother vantage of the Leonardo series is the long sales period . “ We have two peaks For the sale of cuttings ; one in the descent , for those who implant for an early March bloom , and one in January for those who desire a bloom from early May , so a product that permit for farsighted production and provision . ”
