Today ’s pic are from Pat DeSocio , who says,“I moved from two land in Locust Valley , New York , where I built and educate a sort of garden ( perennials , shade , flowering shrub around a long rock wall , cut , heather - around a windmill - wintertime flowering ) for 20 years , to an flat with a little backyard . My daughters leave for college and I lost my house during the recession . I was selling real estate and my bills were the same , but nothing sold in 2008 - 2010 . I was heartbroken , as my vivify menage of 20 year had six sets of Frenchdoors that open to my gardens , which had grown and changed and evolved over 20 age like my children . I brought some plant life with me , inluding my Jack - in - the - pulpit , hardy hibiscus , a few liquid ecstasy of cimicifuga , ginger , and some amazing hostas . I ’ve started work up gardens here . Although it is a rental , it is my household and the back yard is my sactuary . My shade garden is flourish , my caryopterous is buzzing with felicitous bees , my portulaca pop up everywhere in the cleft , my container have nautia ( like elephant ear ) tubers from the grocery stock and black taro root from India via Ebay . We have an organic garden with everything and I share the abundance with my friend and neighbors . I die back to my one-time firm recently because I felt unattackable enough , but it looked overgrown and unkempt . I have of late beenfeeling blessed by the exemption I have come to appreciate . I am unburdened by the high property taxes and the expense and study involved in maintaining my house , gardens , and pool . I ’ve gain that a garden is a living affair that you live and care for , and when you move , it moves with you . It is spiritual . “Oh , wow , Pat . I love this position for so many reasons . I can tell this transition has been quite an emotional journeying , and that you ’ve survived it beautifully . Good luck with your unexampled garden – I knowIwould love to see update as it germinate ! That Jack - in - the - podium , by the style , is ridiculously nerveless ! !
