garden
I thought it was time to put our horticulture feet up till the saltation ? I seem to be busier now than I was at the height of summertime . So many jobs to do ! Anyway , meter for Six on Saturday . Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything – a beastie , a disaster , a triumph , winter interest , a design , a rarefied plant or flower , anything at all . conjoin in , all the best people do !
Here are my Six .

1 . Compost bins . all important kit in any honest garden . I have three bays , envelop at the sides and front , but unfastened to the element at the top . I apply one for completed compost , it does n’t stay full for very long . One of the other two is normally in various state of full , study - in - forward motion compost , the third bay is for turning the second into every couple of week or so . Normally . Just now I have so much material from clearing the delimitation , kitty etc that both are pressed into service and nearly full . I ’ll vex about turn them in a duo of months , they can just brew away for now .
2 . develop the climbing develop . Now is a good metre , things are bare enough to see what I ’m doing . This class I just have one climbing rose , a adequate sized ‘ danse de feu ’ and it has stick a bit unruly . I ’ve already prune it back , cutting a couple of root right down to the al-Qaeda , and any side shoots back to the independent stems . I have tie in the remain two recollective stem so that they are more or less horizontal , one to the left , one to the right . The hope is that Modern stems will break from these horizontal , and of course I should get new stem turn from the base of the plant . I plan to train those a little lower than the other two so I get flowers grim down . We shall see . There is a third main stem , which I could bend down to a more horizontal orientation course , but it has grown long , weaving through the trellis . Not certain I can do much about that other than prune it back and start again . Next year I should have lots of roses to prune and geartrain , some from cuttings , some new to me . More on that another time .
3 . The het bench . Have I mentioned this before in a Six mail ? Not sure . Anyhow , here it is . Ibuilt itearly this year . It comes into its own at this time of year as the conditions get cold . I have a few thing winter in here , including the begonoias from last week , as well as other seed starts and the inevitable cuttings .

4 . Chilli ‘ prairie fire ’ . I ’ve grow two change of chillie this year . These are commonly grow for their ornamental note value , rather than their sense of taste or firepower , something I realised long after the seeds were grow off . I think I shall hold one plant and endeavor to winter it for an even better harvest next year . If it lives I ’ll amaze it in a pot on the patio for the colours .
5 . First daffodil . I ’ve only just finished plant the electric light ( until the next mickle get ) but already some established daffodil are poke the very tips of their noses out . Seems early to me , but I did n’t keep any records in previous old age , so I could be imagining it .
6 . Grassy inflorescences . I do n’t think we ’re supposed to call them heyday . These are not yet fully form , but already looking graceful atop the zebra green goddess from whence they emerge .

Have a outstanding weekend , do n’t draw a blank to check back in as more Six posts are added by our crack squad of international gardening ninjas .
I ’ll be back next Saturday with another Six .
