It feel like just a few month ago I was write all about 2020.And yet here we are , ushing in 2022 !
Without a doubt , we ’re be through a time that most of us have never experienced in our lifetimes . In 2021 , many of us tried our right to return to a signified of normalcy .
For me , many days were spent in the garden .

I surprised strangers withRandom natural endowment of Flowers .
I spent many summer days tucked aside in the forest with my kiddo and our camper .
We welcome a fresh addition to the family .
Like any year , it was n’t all sunshine and rainbows . The world is still in enceinte hullabaloo , from the on-going pandemic to the many effects of climate change . Here in BC , it ’s been a year of heat domes , wildfires , atmospherical river , and plenty of flooding . It ’s a great reminder that Mother Nature is seek to cure .
While I expect ahead to 2022 , I want to take a moment and search back at everything 2021 play to me and Garden Therapy . Here are some of the highlight of 2021 and a list of my pet articles from the past twelvemonth .
The Regenerative Garden
This year turned into a busy one asI began to publish my 11thbook , The Regenerative Garden . Without a doubtfulness , this book was my biggest project yet . Before I could even begin write , I had to begin plenty of undertaking within my garden and let them take ascendant .
Then , I start out to document them with photos and my banker’s bill . By June , I had my first holograph quick to post to my editor . Over the summer , I spent my time between tenting , making edits to the book , enjoy my garden , and rest .
I ca n’t even put into words how much this playscript mean to me . I need to enliven as many hoi polloi as possible to understand the power of grow a regenerative garden . It ’s what I apply in my own garden and my house , the community , and the world is secure for it .

Meet Our Herbalist Mentor
This year , my dear protagonist and mentorLori Snyderjoined the Garden Therapy team as our Herbalist Mentor!Lori is a Métis herbalist and educator sharing stories and teachings with children and adults . I met her many years ago when she left a comment on one of my posts .
This year , I’ve put a gross ton of focus on my herbal guides and Lori has begun to go over them and add her own expertiseto the guidebook as one of herGreen approving .
While she ’s only just started , Lori ’s unbelievable noesis about herbaceous plant and their herculean history is already a huge asset to our team . I ca n’t look to see what she shares with us this upcoming year !
My New Family Addition
I added a new sidekick to my household!Meet Ozzie !
I started come after an organisation on Facebook that rescue Mexican street dog and charge them north to families in Seattle and Vancouver . I was n’t quite ready for another pup , but when I saw this cutie bug out up on my Facebook provender , I find myself beam in an applicationsecondslater .
It did n’t take long for my kiddo and I to become completely haunt with Ozzie . His little brown eyes , scruffy beard , and lily-white tie made of fur make him bet like a heartfelt old human beings stuck in a puppy ’s physical structure .
And yes , my cat Magic is as obsess with him as we are . I ca n’t tell if they ’re best friends or frenemies but they always have to know what the other one is up to !
My Relapse
Like I said , not everything about this twelvemonth was salutary . In the midst of write my book , I had a relapse of the continuing hurting disease that first left me disabled 15 days ago . And I wo n’t dwell , it has not been easy .
Ever since the summer , I do n’t have the Energy Department to get out there and do the things I jazz . I’ve spent fewer days in the garden and witness myself sleeping through gay day . Some days are upright than others but I have learned to take it Clarence Day by 24-hour interval and listen to my eubstance .
At first , I was dealing with my lapse in silence . But when I eventually decided to share what was happen to me , I take in such an outpour of lovemaking and support from the Garden Therapy residential area . It has reminded me how significant it is to share and reach out when you need it the most .
While I do n’t know what 2022 has in store for me , I do make love thatI will carry on to look to the garden for enduringness . It helped me get through this before and I have sodding faith it will help heal me once again .
A Brand New Website
Most of you have probably acknowledge , butGarden Therapy got a makeover!It ’s been a long time coming as I ’ve been pondering what focusing to take the website in for a few class now .
The last affair I require to do was be front in center on my site . But if coming forward about my relapse has taught me anything , it ’s that the community can profit from hearing my story . for aid more people with their own healing journey , they had to trust me . And to trust me , they had to see and have intercourse me .
Garden Therapy has had many iterations throughout the years . Those who saw it at its beginning point more than a decade ago would n’t even recognize it today !
I have no doubt it will go through many more iterations in the decades to derive . But for now , I’m eff the joy and honey for the garden the website brings !
