I ’m completely sold on this dwarfHydrangea paniculata‘Bobo ’ ( Zones 3–8 ) . I ’m removingHydrangea macrophylla(Zones 5–9 ) in my garden because the bud are destroy during wintertime more often than not . The paniculatas ’ blooms are reliable and long persistent . Blooming white in the background areHydrangea paniculata‘Limelight ’ and ‘ Little Lime . ’

I ’m not a big lover oforangetones in the garden , but I could n’t resist the deep saturation of the color in this canna(Cannahybrid , Zones 8–10 or as an annual ) .

Unfortunately , theJapanese beetlesloved this beautiful rosiness too .

ThisLonicerasempervirens(Zones 4–9 ) along the driveway blooms from spring until frost . Also seen is aCedrusatlantica‘Glauca ’ ( geographical zone 6–10 ) trained as anespalier . It allow for year - round color andtexture .

The desolation of the samepatioperennial garden is picture here inwinter . This photo severalise me I need to give the garden more winter structure by adding smallevergreens — but I ’d have to remove perennials to provide the place for them .
